Howdy gang, I've been gone a while taking care of two sick dogs. My 11 yr old Goldendoodle, Remington, named after the 1858 Remington revolver, was diagnosed with two types of cancer and was given 1 1/2 to 2 months to live, that was 2 1/2 months ago. Remy requires full time care. Last week he came down with a several stomach infection requiring 2 days in the Vet hospitalon IV fluids. Remy is my wife's baby, she got Remy a month after I was deployed to Iraq. Remy is such a ham bone. He has an amazing personality and is a great dog!

A few days before Remy's issue. my 12 yr old Tricolor long hair Chihuahua, Gizmo came down with a severe case of pancreatitis, and we almost lost him. Gizmo spent 5 days in the Vet hospital on IV fluids and several medications but he has pulled through.

All our children are grown up now and my dogs 🐶🐕🐩🐶🐕 are my kids now, only thing is they listen better than our children do! 😀 I have 4 dogs and foster one more. Ranging from German shepherd, Goldendoodle, Kelpie Lab, Jack Russel, to our chihuahua. All but Remy are rescues. Rescue dogs make the best pets!

So rescue a shelter dog today and gain a new best freind! Hope y'all are having an awesome day! God Bless Y'all!

It’s a tough go taking care of ailing pets. Good on ya for manin’ up to the responsibility.
Walter, my dogs are like my kids, we spoil them rotten, feed them quality dog food and they also get their daily supplements. All sleep in the house, on their own beds, or at the foot of our bed. It's funny how the smallest two of the pack can take up so much space on a king size bed.

I have a very good friend over in Bishop who is currently “house bound” with one. She has two heelers, one deaf and 14 years old but in reasonable shape, but Rosy, his “ears” is 16 and on the way upstairs soon. Mom just can’t leave her for more than a couple hours. She has become an even dearer friend after showing this kind of devotion to the animals. So many would just have put them down much sooner.

I can relate, my oldest, Kipper a Kelpie Lab mix (half cattle dog part of the Australian Shepherd family) is 16 yrs old, we chased cattle together, but I retired him about 3 yrs ago, his right hip started bothering him. Kipper has slowed down, and he lost his left eye 2 yrs ago, had a detached retina and required emergency surgery. Kipper has adjusted well to having only one eye. He sticks to me like glue, he is a resuce and was severely abused by his previous owner. But he is my loyal buddy.
